Cricket, Pubs and Family History
We want to visit St Ives not only because it is old and pretty, but also for family memories. rod's parents used to live next door to Nobby Clark, a Northjampton and England cricketer in the 1930s.

When his playing career was over he moved to St Ives to run a pub called the Dun Horse. Rod remembers visiting with his parents when he was a boy. The building has many changes of hands and been renamed twice in recent years but it is no longer a pub or restaurant It is on what is now quite a busy road but it is close by the church and river and must have once been an idyllic pub setting.
The view down the lane at the side of the pub
You can’t see it in the picture, but it is just possible to make out the words “The Dun Horse” beneath the rendering and the paint on the sign board around the window above the front door
